The course enables students to solve equations routinely and confidently. The course introduces numerous new methods and strategies for solving problems including: number theory, percent calculation, functions, graphs and systems, radicals, probability and basic geometry topics. This course is an extension of Integrated Mathematics 1. It is designed to review and enrich the topics of algebra and geometry while introducing new concepts and theorems. The following topics are covered: equations, functions and their graphs, statistics and probability and more topics from geometry. Through an interactive approach, students adopt numerous new math concepts and develop problem-solving skills.

Algebra 2 Regular is designed to continue the studies of Algebra 1 Regular and to provide a foundation for applying these skills to other mathematical and scientific fields. This course is designed to wrap-up the regular high school education in mathematics. The first semester is an in-depth review and extension of the topics first introduced in Algebra 2 (number theory, analytic geometry, polynomial functions, graphs, and complex numbers). The second semester is an in-depth study of the topics in the field of trigonometry (trigonometric functions, analytic trigonometry, applications of trigonometry).

This course is designed to prepare students for Calculus and give a non-traditional, intuitive, graphing-calculator approach to the topics covered with an emphasis on integration of technology, problem-solving, multiple representations, exploration, geometric transformations, foreshadowing calculus, approximating answers and the power of visualization.
