FIRST Tech Challenge(FTC) Championships in Bucharest

The NOVA HotBots, a robotics team based at NOVA Interanational Schools in Skopje, returned from the FIRST Tech Challenge(FTC) Eastern European Championships last weekend with two awards, Motivate and Promote. The Motivate Award celebrates the team that exemplifies the essence of the FTC competition through team spirit and enthusiasm. The Promote Award is given to the team that is most successful in creating a compelling video message for the public designed to change our culture and celebrate science, technology, engineering and math. In addition to those two awards, the HotBots were also runners-up for the Inspire award, which would have included an inviation to compete in the World Championships in St. Louis, Missouris USA. The cometition was held on March 21st and 22nd at the American Interanational School of Bucharest. The HotBots arrived on Thursday after a strenuous 12 hour bus ride.During Friday's practice rounds, the HotBots looked good and well prepared for Saturday's qualifications and finals. Despite experiencing a technical difficulty that cost the team 3 matches, the HotBots managed to stick together, and deliver excellent performance, although they did not qualify for the finals. This was naturally a wonderful experience for the robotics team as not only did the members get to compete but also they got to meet new like-minded individuals and friends.
