Dance Program 6
Students in the 6th grade will create movement sequences, which will be brought together to create a dance, alone and in groups. They will refine the dance patterns from a variety of dance forms. Students in grade 6 will also learn and refine the performance of more complex movement sequences using the elements of body awareness, space awareness, qualities and relationships, alone and with others, with and without objects.
Dance Program 7
Students in the 7th grade will create and develop dances alone and with others. The refinement of the presentation of a variety of dance forms including jazz, folk, modern and hip-hop are improved throughout the year.
Dance Program 8
In extension of the previous year, students will apply movement skills and concepts to create movement sequences in a variety of dance forms. Theses movement sequences are combined to produce a choreographed dance. The dances produced are performed throughout the year at school performances
