The beginning of something really special: NOVA Language Institute becomes the first independent registered language school in Macedonia

Connecting Macedonia with the US: students travel across the Atlantic to attend a year of American high school through AYUSA
- 1997
One more step in the right direction: Government approval and Ministry of Education verification of NOVA High School. NOVA opens its door to a group of 43 specially selected freshmen
- 1999
NOVA finds its permanent home: Ceremonial opening of the new state-of-the-art facility, by the late President Boris Trajkovski
- 2002
The NOVA family expands: Ministry of Education approval of the NOVA Primary School Pilot Program. NOVA Primary School embraces the first group of international and later Macedonian students
- 2004
NOVA becomes internationally recognized: The school receives US and international accreditation through the Commission on International and Trans-regional Accreditation (CITA)
- 2005
Transfer of accreditation: NOVA receives both US and international accreditation through the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS)
- 2006
Accomplishments added to the school’s resume: NOVA becomes an International Baccalaureate (IB) world school and a member of the network of overseas schools supported by the US State Department
- 2007
The journey has only begun: NOVA unveils its plans to build a new campus on land adjacent to the current facilities, including state-of-the-art PK-8 building, a Sports and Recreation Complex and a Convention Centre
- 2008
NOVA part of the elite: NOVA becomes a full member of the Central and Eastern European Schools Association (CEESA), one of the regional association of US State Department sponsored American Overseas Schools, becoming member number 19.
- 2009
The Center for Differentiated Learning and the Tutoring Center are formally added to the existing student support services at NOVA .
- 2010
NOVA receives a 6-year re-accreditation from NAAS, and an appointment to serve on its Board of Commissioners.
- 2010
NOVA opens the doors of its new Early Education, Elementary, and Middle School facilities.
