Sports and Activities

Several NOVA teams actively participate in a number of regional competitions and tournaments. More popular are the Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ Soccer, Coed Table Tennis, Girls’ Volleyball, and Coed Bowling. NOVA acknowledges interscholastic athletics as means to develop camaraderie, character, and socialization skills. Students should plan to commit substantial time when signing-up for teams.

There is more to life than academic study. The school recognizes that sports promote spirit and leadership among students and contribute in shaping well-rounded and healthy individuals.

The school uses its outdoor court for Basketball, Volleyball, Soccer and Tennis competitions, in addition to the Forza facility, which it rents for its PE classes and indoor activities.Aerobics, Dance and Fitness take place at the indoor fitness center, and are equally popular among the sexes.

The way for a school to promote student fitness has evolved beyond the average set of Physical education warm-up exercises to include new trends. The Aerobics class incorporates units of step-aerobics and Tae-Bo, while the Fitness class teaches the students how to create personal weight and cardio-workout programs.
