Homeroom is a very important class period in the middle school schedule.  Homeroom activities include work on the assessment portfolio, direct instruction in study, organizational and time management skills.  Students work with teachers to review the homework agenda, to evaluate progress on their portfolios and grades.  The homeroom teacher acts an academic advisor to all students in the homeroom.

Another important part of homeroom is utilizing the time to tackle issues important to the development of young adolescents.  We use this time to discuss bullying, peer pressure, social justice issues, current events and the world around them.  Student use this time to make movies, draw comics and present their ideas on the world.
