NOVA International School Skopje is a diverse learner community with students and staff from over 40 countries. It is the school of choice for the expat and diplomatic community in Skopje, as well as local families with a global outlook. It is an International Baccalaureate World Continuum school, following Common Core standards, to students in grades PK-12. The School was founded in 1997, the first registered private education institution in Skopje, N. Macedonia. The campus is spaciously situated in a residential neighborhood near the city center.

First All-school Drill of the School Year

🏫 Today, our school security team successfully conducted an earthquake drill, ensuring that over 700 students and more than 150 staff members on campus are well-prepared to handle a potential real-life event. The drill was completed in an optimal timeframe, with everyone adhering closely to the established protocols. The dedication and seriousness displayed by our students and staff reflect their understanding of the importance of safety and preparedness.

Secondary School Hosts a Successful Back-to-School Night

🎒 Last night, we hosted our annual Back-to-School Night, a unique opportunity for parents to step into their children's shoes and experience a day in their academic lives! This event was designed to familiarize parents with the key focus areas of each class, including how our faculty provides feedback, what to be mindful of, homework expectations, the Academic Honesty Policy, teachers' office hours, etc. Parents walked through a shortened version of their children's daily schedules, gaining a firsthand understanding of the school dynamics, learning outcomes, and communication norms that guide our educational approach.

ES Students Learn about Standardized Language and Different Dialects with Guest Speakers from Various Parts of the Country!

✏️Our 4th-grade students recently embarked on an exciting linguistic journey under the study unit" Language as a Means of Communication." They were introduced to the concept of a standardized language and the rich diversity of dialects through an engaging session with teachers from different parts of the country. These teachers shared stories of their educational experiences while speaking in their native dialects, giving students a first-hand understanding of how language varies across regions. It was a unique opportunity for our students to actively engage in identifying the teachers' towns of origin, connecting language to culture, and appreciating the value of dialects in enriching our communication.

Our BBQ Social Event Attracted Our Entire School Community!

🫶What a fantastic way to kick off the academic year! Our Parent-Teacher Association hosted the first event of the season, welcoming both new and returning families for a day filled with connection, conversation, and community spirit. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to bond over school life and learn about the various PTA-organized activities and initiatives that make our school a special place. We are so grateful to our dedicated faculty and supportive families who took the time to chat about our students' journeys and share their experiences.

School Nurses Hold a Successful First Aid Provision Class for Our Fifth-graders!

🩹Today, our fifth graders took their learning outdoors for an unforgettable class with our amazing school nurses! In a hands-on session, our students learned invaluable first aid skills, including how to treat a broken bone, apply compression for wounds, perform CPR, what to do when someone faints, and manage sunburn or frostbite. These practical lessons not only equipped our young learners with essential life-saving knowledge but also fostered confidence in handling emergencies.
