NOVA Boris Trajkovski Scholarship

The scholarship program was established in 2005 in honor of the late Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski. The president's family believed that individual leadership potential and an international mindset could be the cornerstones of a program focused on educating high school students (grades 9-12) in a system different from public schools.
The academic 2026-2027 marks our 21st year of celebrating this program's partnership with the BT International Foundation.
Between 2005 - 2026, the BT-NOVA Scholarship program supported the matriculation of 68 full-tuition scholarship students.

This year's topic: Homework in the Age of AI: Still Useful or Time for Change?
Now that students can use powerful AI tools at home, does traditional homework still make sense? Share your opinion and suggest how homework could be changed to stay meaningful and helpful for both students and teachers.
Wednesday, December 17, 2025 - Tuesday, December 30, 2025. Applicants submit their ROUND 1 contributions (the video essay and the reflection). Use this link to submit your application.
- What is a video essay? It is a visual way of presenting a point of view. Much like a written essay, it consists of a structure: introduction (brief presentation of the topic), a body (discussion on the topic through different perspectives), and a conclusion (a brief recap of the discussion)
- What is reflection? It is a short narrative text that explains the steps of the research process on the topic and what learning outcomes the student has achieved.
Tuesday, January 20, 2026 - Top-marked applicants are invited to proceed to ROUND 2. All applicants will receive their results via email.
Saturday, February 14, 2026 - ROUND 2 candidates will take part in a Selection Day process at the NOVA campus. They will be engaged in a teamwork activity and have their English language proficiency and math skills tested.
We encourage all ninth-grade students from the country to apply!
