Community

NOVA International School Skopje caters to a dynamic, tight-knit community in which each stakeholder is encouraged to advance the school's mission and vision actively. We recognize the importance and make a concerted effort to involve and support each community member. From its day-to-day operations to special events commemorating milestones and achievements to frequent communal gatherings to connect, interact, exchange ideas, and socialize, the aim is to instill a sense of belonging in each stakeholder. Each NOVA community member plays an integral role in the school's strategic growth and is frequently consulted on key decisions.

Students' Voice Is Heard

Current students are given a platform to voice their opinions and contribute to the school's improvement through the Student Council, as well as encouraged to grow holistically through a number of activities, including the After School Program (ASA), school clubs and organizations, ad SuperNOVA sports and activities. Service as Action, Week Without Walls, and extracurricular/after-school opportunities extend students' learning beyond the classroom and develop all-rounded learners in line with the IB learning profile and the inquiry-based approach we implement.

In our day-to-day school life, we aim to foster team spirit and belonging through our advisory model, engaging in houses competitions and sports teams.

Support Structures

We maintain close ties with our graduated students through the NOVA Alumni Association (NAA). We actively work on supporting current students in achieving their academic aspirations wherever they may take them, and we are proud to have students at a wide array of prestigious higher education institutions.

Our IB faculty and Student Support Services (SSS), comprising academic and social-emotional learning counselors, work to ensure each student is supported to reach their full potential.

Parents and Teachers are given a chance to collaborate and organize all-school community events through the Parent-Teacher Association and champion important causes to the benefit of both the immediate and broader community.

We Take Care of Our Teachers

The NOVA faculty and staff are provided a space to collaborate, learn and share best practices through our weekly Professional Learning Communities every Wednesday, acknowledged through events like Teacher Appreciation Day and Wellness Week, and are given multiple opportunities over the year to connect.

Community Events

Some of our traditional beloved events that bring together all stakeholders include the annual Family Bazaar, Fall and Spring Festivals, the Winter Performances and Market, Community Sports Hours each Friday, Movie Nights, Classical Music evenings, and many more. From new parent and student orientations, Back to School, and Open Days for prospective families both local and international, to providing meals, transportation, and health services, the school aims to ensure all students and parents have the necessary support systems in place.
