The aim of the PTA-led initiatives and activities is, through community-based charities and fundraisers, to boost the feeling of belonging, to raise awareness regarding social issues that affect all community stakeholders, to organize social events for the greater benefit of all, and to help new families in Skopje make an easy and swift transition. The PTA strives to support parents, faculty, and staff by facilitating communication and fostering community through a variety of initiatives.

Parents Make a Difference Here

The NOVA Parent-Teacher Association brings parents and teachers together around school life. The Association provides various opportunities for families to meet each other, share ideas, welcome newcomers, organize events, support local causes, and contribute time and experience to the community.

Parents can take part in many different ways. Some volunteer regularly, others help with a particular event or initiative, and some simply come along to a coffee morning or evening workshops to meet people and hear what is happening at school.

The PTA meets monthly and welcomes new members throughout the year.

Get to Know Other Parents

Coffee Mornings

Coffee Mornings are informal monthly gatherings where parents can meet, talk, and bring forward ideas or questions. Some include workshops and discussions on topics relevant to children and school life, while others simply provide time to connect.

 

Parent Workshops

Throughout the school year, the PTA invites guest speakers to lead conversations on topics relevant to parents and the wider NOVA community.

 

Help Families Feel at Home: Family Ambassador ProgramMoving to a new school, and sometimes a new country, comes with plenty of practical questions.

The Family Ambassador Program connects new NOVA families with established families who can share their experience of school and life in Skopje. The relationship can be as simple as answering questions, making an introduction, or helping a new family find its way around the community.

 

Room Parents

In Elementary School, Room Parents help connect families within their child's class and provide opportunities for parents to support class and community activities.

 

Yard Sale 2026

Bring the Community Together

The PTA organizes and supports events throughout the school year that give families, students, faculty, and staff time to meet outside the usual school routine. Recent activities have included the Family Festival, BBQ Social, Elementary festivals, Yard Sale, and faculty and staff appreciation events. Some are social. Some raise funds. Many do both.

Family Festival

The Family Festival brings NOVA families together for student performances, international food, games, and activities while raising funds for a selected community cause. It’s the largest recurring event of the school year.

Appreciate the People Who Work With Our Children

The PTA organizes activities throughout the year to recognize NOVA's faculty and staff. Recent initiatives have included gatherings for World Teachers' Day and Teacher Appreciation Day. Parents contribute in different ways, from organizing events and preparing homemade food to simply taking the opportunity to say thank you.
 

Support the Wider Community

Community service and fundraising are an important part of the PTA's work.

Parents help organize initiatives that support local organizations and community needs. Recent projects have included support for the Kočani initiative and the Doza Srekja Day Care Center for Children with Down Syndrome, as well as earlier fundraising, environmental, food-donation, technology, and school-support projects.

Community

Parent Teacher Association

Families should not be discouraged from applying to NOVA solely because of financial considerations. Financial Aid, tuition support, and scholarships help make a NOVA education possible for admitted students who qualify.
