A DNA Shaped by Curiosity

A DNA Shaped by Curiosity

We are proud to share that our Grade 8 student Bianka Lazovska has been accepted to the Oxford University Summer Program, where she will explore the fascinating fields of biotechnology and genetics.

Through the program, students investigate what makes every living thing unique while exploring how scientific innovation can shape the future. From DNA and inheritance to gene editing and personalized medicine, the course encourages students to think critically about the ways science can improve health, protect the planet, and expand what is possible.

For Bianka, this opportunity grew from a genuine interest sparked in the classroom. Reflecting on her motivation to apply, she shared: "We learned about genetics at the beginning of the year, and I found it fascinating. I wanted to learn more about it."

Meaningful learning often begins with curiosity and grows when students are encouraged to explore their interests more deeply. We are excited for Bianka as she takes this next step in her learning journey.
