New Faculty Onboarding Week: The People Behind Every Learner's Journey

At NOVA, welcoming new faculty is about more than orientation. It’s about building a community grounded in trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to every learner.

Our New Faculty Onboarding Week gave colleagues the opportunity to connect, learn, and experience the culture that defines NOVA. They explored the campus, connected with colleagues across divisions, and experienced NOVA’s collaborative spirit through activities such as Human Bingo, scavenger hunts, karaoke, team challenges, and learning about local traditions.

By the end of the week, many unfamiliar faces had already become familiar ones. In his opening address, Director Ivan Novakovski reflected on the challenges of the pandemic and the lessons that continue to guide us today. Flexibility, thoughtful innovation, and empathy are not simply lessons from the past. They remain central to how we teach, how we lead, and how we nurture learners as balanced, informed, and empathetic thinkers embracing their full potential.
