Stepping Into History: Grade 2 Explores the Old Skopje Bazaar

Some of the most memorable learning happens when students step beyond the classroom and experience the stories of their city firsthand.

Last week, our Grade 2 students visited the historic Old Skopje Bazaar, guided by a professional storyteller who helped bring the past to life. As they walked through the Bazaar’s cobblestone streets, students were part of an interactive quest that encouraged them to observe, ask questions, and discover the history hidden within the shops and landmarks around them.

Along the way, they visited small artisan workshops, where they saw local craftsmanship up close and learned how traditional skills continue to shape the character of the Bazaar today. The visit concluded with an engaging tour of the Bazaar Museum, helping students connect what they saw with the history of the place and the people who have worked there for generations.

Experiences like this help students develop curiosity, cultural understanding, and a deeper connection to their community.

A heartfelt thank you to our guide and the local artisans who made this experience so meaningful for our young learners.
